Privacy Policy
Prayhold keeps everything on your iPhone. We have no servers, no accounts and no analytics. This page explains what the app stores on your device, what Apple handles, and your rights.
Who we are
Prayhold is published by Stanislav Batsukov, a sole proprietor registered in Poland (CEIDG), based in Warsaw. For anything related to privacy, write to support@prayhold.com. Under the GDPR, Stanislav Batsukov is the data controller for the little data described below.
What the app stores — on your device only
- Your app selection. When you choose which apps to hold, iOS gives Prayhold opaque tokens, not app names. Prayhold cannot read which apps they are; it only passes the tokens back to Apple's Screen Time to apply the hold. The tokens are stored in the app's private container on your iPhone.
- Blocking state. Whether holding is on or paused, and any temporary unlocks you granted, so the app and its Screen Time extensions agree.
- Prayer history. The date and time of each prayer you completed, the prayer's identifier, and whether you chose to open the app afterwards. This powers the History screen and, for subscribers, monthly insights. It never includes which app you were opening.
- Preferences. Prayer style and length, onboarding progress, and a note of whether you have an active subscription so the app can work offline.
Deleting Prayhold deletes all of this. There is no copy anywhere else. We cannot restore it, and we cannot see it.
What leaves your device
Nothing is sent to us. Prayhold has no backend and no analytics or advertising SDKs. The only network traffic the app generates is with Apple:
- Purchases. Subscriptions are handled by Apple's App Store (StoreKit). Apple processes your payment and tells the app whether a subscription is active. We never see your name, email, address or card details. Apple's handling is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
- Screen Time. Holding apps uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity frameworks. These run on your device under Apple's rules; Apple does not share your app usage with us.
Permissions
Prayhold asks for Screen Time access (Family Controls, "individual" authorization) because without it iOS will not let the app hold anything. You can revoke it at any time in Settings › Screen Time, which also removes every hold Prayhold has placed. The app asks for no other permission — no location, contacts, photos, microphone or notifications.
Children
Prayhold is designed for adults managing their own phone use and is rated for ages 4+ only because it contains nothing objectionable. It is not directed at children under 13, and it does not use Screen Time's parent-child features. We do not knowingly collect any data from children — and, as above, we do not collect any data at all.
Your rights
Because no personal data reaches us, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export or delete on your behalf — you hold the only copy, and deleting the app erases it. If you believe this is wrong in your case, or you have any question, email support@prayhold.com. Residents of the EU/EEA may also lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority; in Poland that is the Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO).
Scripture and prayers
Prayers in the app are either original texts written for Prayhold or passages quoted from public or openly licensed Bible translations: the World English Bible, British Edition (public domain), the Reina-Valera 1909 (public domain), and the Bíblia Livre (CC BY 3.0 BR). This has no privacy impact; it is listed here for attribution.
Changes
If we ever add a feature that changes what the app stores or sends — for example optional, anonymous analytics — we will update this page, change the date at the top, and describe it in the App Store release notes before it ships. The current version of the app sends nothing.
